Why is syndication a paradox? And why should it be more of a paradox in the online than the offline world? Isn't the definition of a reputation what other people say about you? Since its invention, syndication has been a tool for getting widely read, just as having authorized resellers is a tool for selling products to people who can't come to your store. Does syndication only seem paradoxical because of the efforts people have spent in the past decade on getting traffic to their own sites?
If your own website is the only place people can hear from you, of course you want people to come to your website. Likewise, if your own shop is the only place people can buy your products, you want people to visit it. But once other channels for distribution open up, putting yourself as many places online as possible only makes sense. It seems more like a natural progression than a paradox to me.

Is this going to help me understand the mysteries of linking for optimising web sites?
And the real advantages of syndication?

Syndication is also about outsourcing intimacy.
Your content on someone else's blog or website has actually more impact to a new audience. And that is because, of the intimacy the publisher already has with the publisher.
Also, I see tremendous opportunities for aggregating content through syndication - the way "AllTop.com" did - but the long tail way - with Education/Online Marketing as a main theme.
I would actually see more value in visiting MOL website, if you had, apart from your own writings and shows, some really valuable content from other trusted sources (that are syndicated). I would actually stick more to your site, and come back more often.

Out of many great episodes, the Paradox of Syndication was one of your best. I agree with the idea that you become more relevant as your content is consumed in more locations on the Internet.
I would love to have you expand on the mechanics of having an audio billboard appear on other peoples' blogs with your picture (as the interviewer), the picture of the interviewee, and the picture of the blog owner: would one use audiogenerator to build the billboard; how does one put the audio billboard on the other blogs; would the audio billboard just have a link to your instantteleseminar.com interview site; etc.
Thanks for the great content
