Hi Guys
Excellent podcast.
I'm in the process of reinventing my Internet marketing strategy product and I'm in the process of trying to put together a simple set of Twitter guidelines for business.
I'd like to leave a few thoughts…
Firstly, I really like the idea of Twitter being described as an intimate communications medium - I think that's a perfect description. However I'm not convinced that 'informal' is appropriate for all users. Surely businesses can still get a lot out of Twitter without having to deviate from a specific topic of conversation? Maybe not - what are your thoughts?
Secondly, I thought the description of Facebook as being a database of intentions really hit the nail on the head. I thought that the same analogy could be given to Twitter by calling it a 'database of inferred intentions'.
Lastly, I haven't got involved with a Twitter strategy to-date, although that is going to change over the coming few months. I know that most people seem to have a Twitter ID as their name, however I wasn't too sure how that would work if you have multiple businesses in different marketplaces. In your opinion would it be just as effective by using a brand name instead of a personal name for your Twitter ID?
Keep up the good work.
David

By tweeting things that I find funny, I've found that a lot of people react… telling me that even a small blurb can make their day. A lot of people in health care are burning out. I tweet to help them through it. Getting those responses help me through it. It's a real connection.
Surprising how there can be a connection 140 characters at a time

yes i agree getting thousands of followers is not really the answer
you need to be communicating two way via dms
or your just broadcasting into thin air
